Resize an image — free, private, in your browser

Set a new width and height for any image — instantly, with no uploads.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded — they stay on your device.

or drag and drop

Resizing a photo usually means handing it over to an online service that uploads your file to a server you don’t control. This tool works differently: your image is loaded and redrawn entirely inside your browser using the Canvas API, so it never leaves your device.

Load an image to see its original dimensions, type a new width and height (optionally keeping the aspect ratio locked), then preview and download the result. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no cost.

How to use Resize Image

  1. Add an image by dropping it onto the box above or clicking to browse.
  2. Check the original dimensions, then enter the width and height you want.
  3. Keep “Keep aspect ratio” on to scale proportionally, or turn it off for an exact size.
  4. Click “Resize image” to redraw it in your browser, then preview the result.
  5. Download your resized image. Nothing was ever uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device, so it stays completely private.

Will resizing reduce the quality of my image?

Making an image smaller stays crisp. Enlarging beyond the original size can look soft, because the browser has to invent new pixels — this is true of any resizer.

What image formats are supported?

You can load common formats such as JPG, PNG and WebP, and export to PNG, JPEG or WebP. By default the output keeps the same format as your original.

What does “Keep aspect ratio” do?

When it is on, changing the width updates the height automatically (and vice versa) so the image keeps its proportions and never looks stretched.

Do I need to install anything or create an account?

No. It works in any modern browser with no installation, no account and no cost.
